The manor was established at the beginning of the 17th century, but the single-storey stone main building was completed in the 18th century. In 1830s, the wooden first floor was added and the building was rebuilt in the Classicist style. Currently, the centre of the Matsalu Nature Reserve and a museum are located in the manor.
