The manor, first mentioned in 1553, belonged in the Middle Ages to the Saare-Lääne bishop and was later associated with the noble families of von Kursell, von Helmersen and Stael von Holstein. The Early-Classical two-storey main building was built in 1804 and has been preserved to our day in the historicist form of the 1870s.
