The medieval manor house was first mentioned in the 16th century when it was a feudal stronghold (parts of the wall were found inside the building, which was constructed later). The present simple-looking one-storey main building was constructed in different stages from the 17th century to the 19th century. The building that was renovated in 1997 now houses the centre of Vilsandi National Park and also provides tourism services.
