Estonian manors
Previous part (previous style)

Alongside with the lush Art Nouveau, its more tranquil form - the Heimat-style – spread in Estonia (also in manorial architecture) at the beginning of the 20th century. The Heimat-style took over from Art Nouveau small-paned windows and the play of different wall and roof surfaces, but without the lush décor typical of Art Nouveau.

The Heimat-style preserved manor houses in Estonia: Piiumetsa (now rebuilt and dilapidated), Illuste, Roela new manor house (in Virumaa county), Roodi, Halinga, (with Neo-Baroque elements) Tähtvere, Ropka new manor house, Mooste, Väikemõisa, Suure-Konguta.
