The manor, which dates from the Middle Ages, was for longer periods of time associated with the noble families of von Rehbinder, von Stackelberg and von Stryk. The luxurious and majestic Art Nouveau castle was built from 1907 to 1912 on the basis of the designs of Otto Wildau, the architect of the manor, and is graced by a 40 m high round tower.
