Estonian manors
Kawast in Kirchspiel Haljall, Wierland

The manor was first mentioned in 1398. It was associated with the von Dehns for a long time later on. The wooden main building, dating from the 18th to 19th century, was destroyed in a fire in 1972. A corner tower reminding one of a medieval fortress tower, the so-called Pigeon tower, has been preserved.

By the historical distribution the manor was in Haljala Parish in Virumaa County. By the present administrative distribution it belongs to the Haljala Municipality in Lääne-Virumaa County.
