The estate was first mentioned in 1646. The Heimat-style main building designed by Otto Wildau was completed in 1912. Today, the building is used by the Tallinn Sports School. The family cemetery of the manor owners, the von Maydells, has been ravaged.

By the historical distribution the manor was in Karuse Parish in Läänemaa County. By the present administrative distribution it belongs to the Varbla Municipality in Pärnumaa County.
