The manor house was first mentioned in 1489 and has been associated with the noble families of von Poll, von Vietinghoff, von Güldenstubbe and von Buxhoevden. The one-storey main building with a simple shape, constructed at the end of the 18th century, was thoroughly reconstructed in 1864 in the impressive Neo-Gothic style (now in private possession).

By the historical distribution the manor was in Valjala Parish in Saaremaa County. By the present administrative distribution it belongs to the Valjala Municipality in Saaremaa County.
