First mentioned in 1494. The manor has been owned by the von Taubes, von Focks, von Lütkes and von Bremens. The long manor house was built in several phases in the 18th – 20th century. Today, it houses a rural municipality. Explorer Friedrich von Lütke, who lived in the manor in the 19th century, made several voyages around the world and was the president of the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences.

By the historical distribution the manor was in Simuna Parish in Virumaa County. By the present administrative distribution it belongs to the Väike-Maarja Municipality in Lääne-Virumaa County.
