The manor, mentioned in 1501, was for longer periods of time associated with the von Stryks and von Gruenewaldts. The long elaborate main building was built in several stages in the 19th and 20th centuries and has been in ruins since a fire in 1993.

By the historical distribution the manor was in Väike-Maarja Parish in Virumaa County. By the present administrative distribution it belongs to the Väike-Maarja Municipality in Lääne-Virumaa County.
