The estate was founded in the 1660s and for a long time, it was associated with the von Breverns. The main building in the Neo-Renaissance style was completed in 1859 (now privately owned).

By the historical distribution the manor was in Haljala Parish in Virumaa County. By the present administrative distribution it belongs to the Haljala Municipality in Lääne-Virumaa County.
